Tire Retread Technician

Are you mechanically inclined and looking for a hands-on opportunity in manufacturing? Kal Tire is seeking Tire Retread Technicians to join our team at our re-manufacturing facility in Bridgewater, NS. As a Tire Retread Technician, you’ll play a key role in extending the life of commercial tires through the retreading process, helping reduce waste and support our commitment to sustainability. You’ll be part of a close-knit production team that values precision, safety, and teamwork.
What to Expect in This Role:
To help you decide if this role is the right fit, here’s what a typical day looks like:
- You’ll work in a manufacturing environment that can be warm, noisy, and fast-paced.
- You’ll be on your feet most of the day, using hand tools and machines to inspect, buff, and prepare tires for retreading.
- The work is repetitive but methodical, requiring patience and a strong attention to detail.
- You’ll wear protective gear (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) and follow strict safety procedures.
- You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to meet daily production goals.
Training & Onboarding:
We know the first few months are crucial, that’s why we provide:
- Paid training, covering retread operations.
- Skill progression, through all parts of the tire remanufacturing process.
- Clear expectations and feedback at each stage of your training.
Pay & Benefits:
- Starting wage of $18.50 per hour dependent on experience. We offer a clear path for career advancement with wage increases along the way.

Schedule & Work Environment:
- Full-time day shifts.
- No Shift Rotation.
- Sunday's and Holiday's off.
- Overtime available during peak seasons.

Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude or experience working with tools or equipment.
- Ability to use PPE and follow safety procedures.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, attendance and teamwork are essential.
- Basic computer skills for recording production data.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
