Kal Tire is hiring Tire Retread Technicians to join our re-manufacturing team in Acheson, AB. In this role, you’ll help extend the life of commercial tires through the retreading process—reducing waste while supporting our commitment to sustainability. You’ll work alongside a tight-knit team that values safety, precision, and collaboration in a production-focused environment.

What to Expect in This Role:
To help you determine if this hands-on, full-time, permanent role in a unionized environment is the right fit, here’s what you can expect day to day:
  • Work in a manufacturing setting that is warm, noisy, and fast-paced.
  • Spend most of your shift on your feet using tools and equipment to inspect, buff, and prepare tires for retreading.
  • Perform repetitive, process-driven tasks that require patience and a strong eye for detail.
  • Follow strict safety standards while wearing required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots).
  • Collaborate with your team to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.

Training & Onboarding:

We know the first few months are crucial, that’s why we provide:
  • Paid training, covering Wheel Refinishing, Shipping/Receiving, and Retread operations.
  • A  peer mentor to help you learn processes and adjust to the environment.
  • Skill progression, through all parts of the tire remanufacturing process.
  • Clear expectations and feedback at each stage of your training.

Pay & Benefits:
  • Starting wage $21.00 dependent on experience. We offer a clear path for career advancement with wage increases along the way.

Schedule & Work Environment:
  • Full-time day shifts.
    • Paid Training 7:00 am- 3:30 pm.
    • Permanent Schedule 9:00 am- 5:30 pm.
  • No Shift Rotation.
  • Sundays and holidays off.
  • Overtime available during peak seasons.

  • Valid driver’s license is considered an asset.
